After ten years of self-imposed exile

Chinese dissident / artist AI Wei Wei 

Has chosen to return to his homeland China.

His reasons?

Daily life in the West is ten times 

more difficult than in China.

Lack of freedom in the EU is real.

He'd also had enough of Western hypocrisy.

I would add another reason:

Homesickness

Mae West: "Oh! I would never get in their way."

Some be aware that at one point Mae

 

was the second highest paid

 

person in Hollywood. 

 During the 1930s

and amongst many others

she helped / supported

Four black American female actresses:

Louise Beavers

Gertrude Howard

Hattie McDaniel 

Libby Taylor get film roles

Her reason for doing so was always the same -

Monica Dickens' Truman Capote

 Grand-daughter of Charles Dickens.

Her humorous mini autobiography

One Pair of Hands

can be enjoyed

 by all age groups.

Upon my recent re-reading this book 

I realised / realized

One of the individuals in her account

was her own personal experience 

as a young woman was of 

this type of person.
